Southwest Airlines prides itself on perks like free luggage and discount airfare, but the carrier is also renowned for being the only airline in the U.S. that gives passengers a first-come, first-serve seat.
Some equate flying Southwest to being the Wal-Mart of the friendly skies. You get what you pay for, along with a host of interesting people.
